This is a view from the upper landing area of the longest par 4, 4th hole of the Old Macdonald Course. The hole is 504 yards from the back tees and is the No. 1 handicap hole. My golfing buddies play this as a par 5 especially in the winter southern headwinds. There is a deep fairway bowl on the left that catches many tee balls and leaves as much as 250 yards to the green. Any tee shot pushed to the right will end up at the bottom of a steep slope and will end a chance to reach the green with the second shot. Old Macdonald is the fourth course of the acclaimed Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Bandon, Oregon. The course opened in 2010. Architects, Tom Doak and Jim Urbina.
