Sinking sunlight on the par 3 11th hole of the Pacific Dunes Course of the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Bandon, Oregon. This is a view of the oceanside portion of the hole and its amazing setting on Pacific seaside cliffs. This is a short par 3 but still requires great care to not drop a shot into the Pacific Ocean on the left or into the morass of grasses and bunkers on the steep dunes framing the hole on the right. The front bunkers can also make the tee shot intimidating and make the hole position blind. This is this photographer’s favorite and most published and printed hole. The Sheep Ranch and Cape Arago can be seen on the far north horizon. The course has been ranked at the very top of the U.S. public course rankings since its opening in 2001.
