Bandon Trails is the third course of the five course world famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.  After the greatly acclaimed ocean front Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes courses architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw had a challenge designing a course as great as the previous two without the ocean frontage.  They were up to the task and created a course that respects the natural lay of the land, a defining approach for all of their courses.  The golf adventure starts in the dunes, moves on to a meadow landscape, then to a coastal upland forest and a final return to the dunes.  The aesthetic success of this course is the diversity of the golf landscape.  The course is considered by some accomplished players as the best course on the resort for shotmaking strategy.  The course opened in 2005 and is tied for No. 14 in the 2015/2016 Golf Digest U.S. public golf course rankings.
